Egyptian powerhouse, Zamalek, have denied all rumors suggesting that the club received any sanctions in regards of Hamdi Nagguez’s unpaid wages.
After nearly two years with Zamalek where he lifted the Egypt Cup on two occasions, the CAF Confederation Cup and the Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup, Hamdi Nagguez decided to terminate his contract over unpaid wages.
The Tunisia international then filed a formal complaint to FIFA, who, according to the player’s lawyer Anis Ben Mime, ruled in favor of his client.
“FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber have ruled in favor of Nagguez in his legal dispute with Zamalek. And the club have now been asked to pay $250.000 for the player,” Ben Mime told Mosaique FM.
“It was also decided that they won’t be able to finalize any transfers until they pay the player,” he concluded.
However, just hours after the latter’s comments, the White Castle released a statement debunking Ben Mime’s story and assured that they haven’t received any official notice from FIFA.
“Zamalek can assure that we haven’t received any official statements from FIFA regarding Nagguez’s folder.
The club’s board, led by Mortada Mansour, encourages news outlet to make proper investigations following the player’s agent claims. Additionally, our head of transfers and the administrator of all files regarding the Dispute Resolution Chamber, Sherif Eslam, can also confirm that we haven’t received any statements.
The club was also able to gather all the files that prove how we committed to respect the player’s rights. Zamalek won’t retreat and we will make sure that our rights are respected especially after the player escaped the country without informing us.”
Nagguez currently plies his trade with Lithuanian side FK Suduva, where he was able to make one official league appearance before the league was halted due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Zamalek president says Hamdi Nagguez used fake documents in FIFA suit

Zamalek president Mortada Mansour says that Hamdi Naguezz has no right to sue the club as his agent sent a fake version of his contract to FIFA when filing a complaint salary dispute. The Tunisian international in December terminated his contract with the White Knights over unpaid wages.
Naguezz spent two years with the Cairo giants where he lifted the Egypt Cup on two occasions, the CAF Confederation Cup and the Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup before his stay at the club came to an acrimonious end.
After his departure, his agent identified as Anis Ben Mime announced that they had referred the pay dispute to FIFA and received a positive ruling. Now, the outspoken club says that they will not respond to the suit as a fake contract has been deposited at FIFA.
“Nagguez and his lawyer intentionally forged his contract with Zamalek and submitted it to FIFA for their complaint against the club,” Mansour told Zamalek’s TV channel. He received all his dues until January 2020, and he was also paid in full after his first season with Zamalek, even though his contract states that he should receive 50% of that amount. Nagguez also signed documents upon receiving all his financial dues and he has no right to file a complaint against Zamalek,” he added.
