“EXCLUSIVE: Wolves agree deal in principle to sign Tolu Arokodare as new striker from Genk, here we go! €27m fee agreed with Genk tonight and medical booked on Saturday for #WWFC new striker,” Romano wrote on social media.

The 23-year-old striker had been in talks with Wolves amid renewed interest from AC Milan, who had turned their attention to Arokodare after hitting a wall in their pursuit of Sporting CP’s Conrad Harder.

Arokodare finished as the top scorer in the Belgian top-flight last season with 23 goals and provided an additional seven assists in 45 games across all competitions.

His transfer situation had reduced his involvement with Genk this season, with the forward dropping in the pecking order and managing only substitute appearances in five games across all competitions.

Genk sporting director Dimitri De Condé had previously estimated the chance of Arokodare’s departure at “99 per cent,” saying the striker was “very well in the market and is also ready to take the next step.”

HBVL say Vítor Pereira’s side have agreed to pay €26m and can rise by €1m if Arokodare were to make certain number of appearances in the Premier League. Genk also retain a 10% sell-on clause.

Genk sold Sander Berge to Sheffield United for €25m in January 2020 and this is currently their record sale. They want the Nigeria international’s sale to break this record and have been firm with their stance. The Belgian club have finally managed to achieve it.

"I can confirm that two Latvian fans were injured, at least according to the information we have. I cannot provide more specific details about their medical conditions."

Rubin confirmed that during the game, a Latvian fan was not allowed to display the Ukrainian flag in the stadium, but he stressed that this was an isolated incident during the game, well after the attack on the fans: "Each stadium has its own rules. In Latvia, we consider the Ukrainian flag in the stands to be a normal thing, in Albania they only allow the flags of both participating teams to be displayed in the stands."

Latvian champions Riga will soon sign 21-year-old striker Raki Aouani from Tunisian championship club Etoile Sportive du Sahel (ESS), Tunisian media reports. The striker has already passed a medical and the deal will be officially confirmed in the near future.

It is estimated that the Latvian champion will pay about 320 thousand euros for Aouani. The player had about six months left until the end of his contract with ESS, so in order for the club not to lose the player for nothing, it was more profitable to sell him now.

Aouani, who can play not only on both flanks, but also as a striker, has represented clubs in the ''Etoile Sportive du Sahel'' (ESS) system throughout his career. Aouani has played 111 official games for ESS, scoring 13 goals and providing 14 assists. This season in the Tunisian championship, he has stood out with four goals in 13 games.

The board of the Latvian Football Federation has approved the regulations of the Premier League, 1st League and Latvian Cup for next year, including several significant changes.

In 2024, the first eight legionnaires were priced at three thousand euros each and the following seven at eight thousand each, in 2025 the federation raised the registration fee for all legionnaires to eight thousand for each. Next year, the first four legionnaires will again cost only three thousand each, the next four - six thousand each, and starting with the ninth legionnaire clubs will have to part with a new record amount - 10 thousand each.

In total, the registration cost for eight legionnaires will decrease from 64 thousand to 36 thousand (still 12 thousand more than in 2024), but 15 legionnaires can now be registered for 106 thousand, instead of the previous 120 thousand (in 2024, 15 legionnaires cost 80 thousand).

In 2026, 250 thousand euros from the legionnaires' fund will be used for VAR needs, 200 thousand - for referee payments, and the remaining amount will be divided according to the playing time of U21 Latvian citizens.

The LFF also revealed that "Ogre United" will receive 145 thousand euros from the UEFA Solidarity Fund for the 1st League title. 15% of the total UEFA Solidarity Fund has been allocated to the entire 1st League – a third of the amount goes to the champion, and the remaining two-thirds distributed among the remaining clubs (excluding reserve teams, i.e. 29 thousand for each club).
