The Fair Play and Ethics Committee of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) has applied a conditional three-year suspension to the head coach of the Latvian Virsliga debutant Jelgava Ervin Perkons, the LFF reports.

Perkons can continue to carry out his direct duties, however, if he becomes the subject of a re-investigation by the LFF Fair Play and Ethics Committee within three years, the disqualification will become full and will apply to any football-related activity.

In February, told Pa Pāris Kausiem that in 2015, when he was in charge of the Marienburg club, he knew that bets were made on the performance of his club, and the money received in this way was also spent on meeting the team's needs .

After analyzing this information, as well as conducting interviews with the parties involved, the LFF Fair Play and Ethics Committee heard from Perkons on Tuesday, having received the necessary information. Perkons agreed to cooperate in the promotion and information of fair play in order to help those who play football not to come into contact with criminal activity, as well as to facilitate the timely detection of such activities.

The Fair Play and Ethics Committee, having gathered all the information available in this case, continues to assess the degree of guilt of other possible parties involved.

The scandal ended with former club president Miguel Archanco and five former club directors sentenced to prison, after a court found €650,000 of club funds were directed to pay opposition players to influence results.

UEFA believe the scandal is in violation of article 4.1g of their competition regulations, which states that a club cannot “have been directly and/or indirectly involved, since the entry into force of Article 50(3) of the UEFA Statutes, i.e. on 27 April 2007, in any activity intended to organise or influence the outcome of a game”.

Due to the judge's incapacity, the Riga Regional Court has postponed until the beginning of October the criminal case in which Ruslan Bagirov was accused of trying to manipulate the result of the UEFA Champions League qualification match, the court informed. The case will continue on Oct. 10 at 10 a.m.

The Riga City Court acquitted Bagirov in the Latgale suburb. The prosecutor's office filed a protest against the verdict.

The man has been accused of trying to influence the result in the first rounds of Champions League qualification organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in July 2018 in a response game between the winner of the Latvian Highest league of that year, Jurmala club "Spartaks" and the Serbian champions Belgrade "Crvena Zvezda".

The first fight in Riga at that time ended in a draw 0:0, but in Belgrade at the stadium named after Rajko Mitičs "Spartaks" at the end of the match conceded two goals and failed in the sum of two matches with the result 0:2.

The man has been accused of sending a voice message in Russian on the mobile phone of a representative of "Spartak" on the "Whatsapp" application before the response game in Belgrade, offering specific amounts of money for the appropriate results of the game.

25,000 were offered for two goals and about 50,000 for four goals. In terms of voting, however, no specific currency is mentioned, but the indictment states that the amounts correspond to the total amount of minimum monthly salaries set by Latvia.

The prosecutor's office states that the accused attempted manipulation by offering material values on a large scale in order to influence the outcome of the said game in this way.

The criminal law for such an offense provides for imprisonment of up to five years, community service or a fine.

The Latvian Football Federation (LFF) has no information about the football club blamed for the tax evasion and its official who has been charged, LFF president Vadim Lyashenko told the Delfi portal.

In recent days, Latvian football has again intervened in a number of unpleasant cases. On Saturday, in one of the games of the Latvian First League, there were suspicions of unfair play of "Dinamo Riga" and influence on the result of the match, while in the second league in one of the matches in the stands of Salaspils stadium, the fan sang the anthem of the aggressor country Russia. Meanwhile, on Monday, the State Revenue Service (SRS) announced that an official of a Latvian football club had been charged with tax evasion.

On October 9, the management of Dinamo Riga football club informed the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) about the withdrawal from further participation in this season's "Optibet" Future League championship.

In its submission, the club bases its decision on suspicions of manipulation of the results of games with the involvement of "Dinamo Riga" players. The club says it will do everything in its power to help LFF with its investigation.

According to the rules of the championship, the team is credited with losses in the remaining games with a score of 0:3.

As reported, LFF with partners and responsible institutions has launched an internal investigation in connection with the Future League game between FK "Dinamo Rīga" and FK "Tukums 2000-2"/TSS. Kai praėjusiais metais paskyrė sankcijas, tai, iš to ką man teko skaityti, susidarė labai jau akivaizdus įspūdis, kad federacija specialiai priskyrė tokias sankcijas tiems klubams, kad pačius geriausius UEFA reitingus ir sąlyginai stipresnius žaidėjus turintys klubai papultų į atitinkamus turnyrus ir tuomet būtų prarasta mažiau taškų. Kas dalinai režimui pavyko. Labai jau priminė federacijos pragmatišką fixinimą sistema, o ne tų klubų (varžybose), ypatingai kai niekas net nebuvo išmestas/uždarytas.

Bolivia's top two professional football tournaments were canceled on Tuesday amid investigations into alleged match-fixing.

The Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) confirmed the decision after meeting with representatives of all 17 top-flight clubs and nine regional football associations.

The participants voted overwhelmingly in favor of declaring the current editions of the national league and the domestic Simon Bolivar Cup void.

"It has been decided to cancel the round robin tournament and the professional cup... serious indications have been found that both tournaments have been vitiated," FBF president Fernando Costa told a news conference.

On Monday, the FBF filed a report with La Paz prosecutors in which it alleged that players, officials and referees were involved in a sprawling corruption ring that rigged matches.

Costa said the FBF planned to stage an abridged tournament until the end of the year, in which places for international competitions such as the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana would be decided.

All 17 clubs of Bolivia’s first division took part in the meeting, and 14 agreed to stop the two competitions. Two clubs were against it and one abstained.

The majority of top-flight Bolivian clubs also fired the three members of the country’s refereeing commission — Alejandro Mancilla, Wilson Estrada and Juan Carlos Cardozo.

Some Bolivian club executives said in separate statements that some of their players were also caught in the scheme, without revealing their names.

Fernando Costa, the president of country’s soccer body, said on Aug. 30 there was “a web of corruption” in Bolivian soccer that included referees, players and club executives, but did not give names.

Local media published on Monday several recordings that were interpreted as confirmation of his charges.
