LFF agrees on cooperation with the UAE Football Federation

The Latvian Football Federation (LFF) and the Football Association of the United Arab Emirates have agreed on further cooperation in various areas of football organization and development, including the training of coaches and referees, as well as the organization of national team training camps. The letter of intent of both parties was signed by LFF President Vadim Lashenko and UAE Football Federation President Rashid Humaid Al-Nuaimi.

Cooperation shall focus on the training of coaches, including the organization of courses, seminars and conferences, the training of referees, including the development of fitness programs, the organization of national team matches and training camps, and the development of women's and youth football.

The Memorandum of Understanding provides for cooperation and exchange of information for a period of not less than one year and not more than three years.

During the meeting, the UAE Football Federation was introduced to the youth player training planning and analysis management platform "YoPlayDo" created in Latvia, which is systematically used in LFF accredited youth academies.

On 23 February 2017, during the pendency of the procedure before the FIFA DRC, Mr Kouame signed an employment contract with Riga, valid as from 23 February 2017 until 30 November 2017 (the “Riga Contract”). According to the Riga Contract, the Player was entitled to a monthly salary of EUR 820.00.
On 10 August 2017, FIFA addresses Riga with a correspondence, informing the club of the pending procedure, particularly of the claim against the player with whom Riga had recently concluded an employment contract and asking for comments. Riga does not reply to the letter.
On 30 November 2017, FIFA DRC issues its decision: the player did not have just cause to terminate the contract. The player is condemned to pay compensation to Partizan (EUR 579,490), with Riga jointly and severally liable.


694. Summary
In conclusion, the Panel finds that Riga is jointly and severally liable to pay to Partizan the amount of EUR 347,694. All further claims, including Partizan’s cross-appeal must be dismissed.

In 2020, two people related to Latvian football were included in the so-called black list - they were denied entry to the country. Adlans Šišhanovs, the largest shareholder of FC Ventspils, was the first in the list of foreigners denied entry to the Republic of Latvia in August 2020, but a few months later Sergejs Lomakins, the unofficial owner and biggest supporter of the three-time Latvian champion Riga FC, followed in his footsteps.

The tender, which was viewed by Sportico, details one of the largest rights packages to ever hit the market: 116 clubs and more than 1,500 annual games, in seasons that span all 12 months of the year. It encompasses non-domestic rights for all nine leagues, each the top professional circuit in its country, for three seasons from 2021-2024. The package is expected to fetch something in the $5 million to $20 million range, according to someone familiar with the plans.

The idea for pooled broadcast rights came after the European Leagues, formally the Association of European Professional Football Leagues, took a similar approach to betting data. The group recently pooled data rights to 16 members and signed extended deals with Genius Sports, Sportradar and Stats Perform.

The nine leagues included in the package are the top domestic circuits in Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Poland, Northern Ireland, Slovakia, Iceland, Latvia and Kazakhstan, a European Leagues member.

Tiktai Estai iki šio sezono Floros stebuklo sėdėjo su minus 1 Europine vieta su saviškiais rezultatais. Pas juos tiktai su finansais geriau sekasi surinkinėti, tiek fedeŕacijai iš vietinių rėmėjų žymiai daugiau už LFF, dėl klubų reiktų žiūrėti, bet atrodo irgi gerokai rečiau bankrutuoja kas nors.

O šiaip šis sezonas atrodo dar ir permainų bus, Estijoje Flora baigia prarasti titulą legionieriais besiremenčiai Levadia, Latvijoje didžioji piniginė Riga FC jau prarado titulą ir dabar RFS'ui tik belieka jį užsitikrinti kovoje prieš Sūduvai pažįstamą Valmiera. Reikia tikėtis, kad Žalgiris išsikapanos ir netaps paskutiniu šios kompanijos nariu.
